B-day party invite wording?
How would you word on an invite a start and ending time on an invitation if you have a room for the cake/pizza, etc. for 1 hour but you can come and play as long as you wanted to before and after that hour? I'm not sure how to write it? The party is from 11:30-12:30 but you can come and play before and after for as long as you wanted to? Can anyone help? Thanks!

Re: B-day party invite wording?
You could put that the party is from 10:30-1:30 and cake/pizza will be served from 11:30 - 12:30. I dunno, maybe someone has a better suggestion!

I would put what time you wanted the party to start. Usually it's beforehand, followed by pizza & cake, which ends the party (and your responsibility as host as well)
If everyone wants to stick around afterwards, that's up to them. Several couples hung out for about 2 hours more at my friend's son's bowling party.

Re: B-day party invite wording?
How about just saying that the party is from let's say 11 - 2. Don't even mention when the food will be served. Then, at 11:30, make people aware that the food will be served for one hour.
Good luck

Re: B-day party invite wording?
hmm tough one, what are the ages of most of the kids ?
I would make the invite as the party's appropriate times, and maybe add a note with the card saying that "open play" is available for your child and his friends (maybe word it in a cute way) so that the moms can determine whether their child would be able to handle an hour of fun BEFORE a party (do you want all delirious kids at the party? )
maybe add something like "Caiden's Cool playtime!" Come on by early or stay late, Come play with Caiden, he can hardly wait !"
(I know corny!)
and maybe add (to clarify the corny poem) Dear mommies and daddies: All are welcome to attend "before" or "after" playtimes with Caiden! we look forward to a great time !
hope that makes some sort of sense..

I cant help my racing mind
I just couldnt help but remember when I put like 30 minutes eariler on an invite and a few VERY PUNCTUAL family members were there eariler than us and the restaurant owners were like
so now I hate fudging up the party times, I gotta tell it like it is.. (I shoulda stuck with my 15minutes early time and not 30 )

Re: B-day party invite wording?
Thanks everyone! It's going to be all 3 yr olds, maybe a couple of just turned 4 yr olds. I didn't know how long a typical 3-4 yr old party lasts for?

Re: B-day party invite wording?
1.5 hrs is plenty for 3 yr olds, 2 tops. Normally they play for an hr, then eat for 30 min. but whatever works
