babies and hummus... and other table foods

can my 8 month old have hummus?
I did give him beans already. Was he allowed to have that?!

Woops, all these new food questions I have b/c I'm not used to having an eater.
He's had peas, carrots, chicken, matzah ball soup (little piece from a soup), banana, little pieces of apples, Puffs, pancakes, pretty much all the babyfood stage 1 & 2's... trying to take him off babyfood except for some veggies if I don't have any that night.

Anything else good to have?
BTW... tried avocado a few times and it seems to be the only thing he hasn't liked

my DS just had his 9 month check up today and when i asked what the food restrictions were she told me PB, honey and eggs right now and thats it.
however my sitter's son is the same age and their dr said acidic fruits should be at a year

where I live babies are weaned on hummus, its our national food! I gave my baby hummus with breadsticks and on bread when she was that age, but you need to be careful about the sesame paste and allergies.
