Babies and shoes...
At what age can babies start wearing shoes? I read somewhere it's no good for little ones. Is 6 months OK? Or should you wait longer? I have to own these.
eta- my options are 3-6 months or 6-12 months- thoughts?

Re: Babies and shoes...
They are adorable. I have heard that about not wearing shoes randomly too, don't really understand the reasoning though. It's not like you'd have them on him for 24 hours straight or anything.
That being said, DD is 6 months old, and doesn't wear shoes every day. I really didn't start putting her in shoes until 4 months or so, and it's not very often even now.
When are you due? Maybe the weather/season could help you determine the size to order? I find it very hard sometimes to buy baby shoes...esp. BRU sizes, they never seem to work out right for DD.

I'm due in March... it seems the 6-12 month may get more use- he'll be 6 months in October... I'm gonna go for it.

Re: Babies and shoes...
I've heard the same about shoes--something to do with possibly harming their feet, though I would think you would have to have them on baby all the time or cram his/her feet in them in order to do any harm.
Anyway, I would go for the 6-12 month size. In the beginning, you'll probably have your baby in PJ outfits with feet most of the time anway, so you won't need shoes over the footsies.

Re: Babies and shoes...
They are adorable but my DS would have never gotten his chunky feet into those shoes. He has a high arch just like his daddy and can't wear slip on shoes like those. DS also has a wide foot. DD on the other hand has my feet and no issues so you really don't know what you are going get. They also get kicked off constantly and when they stop kicking their shoes off they learn how to take them off . If you can hold out until you deliver and see how your DC's feet are I would wait. If you have to have them now, and trust me I know the feeling then see if you can return them in a few months.

Heck yeah, that's a good price. If you REALLY love them, maybe get both? I've done that with things I REALLY love for DD It doesn't make me so sad when I have to retire the smaller size, b/c I have the next size too...I'm crazy, I know

Re: Babies and shoes...
For $10 I would totally get them in the larger size. As for babies not wearing shoes, I think that only has to do with when they start walking. It's better for them to be barefoot at that time.

I'm always thinking
I would seriously do it, I've done it numerous times with the same outfit/shoes/etc...get more enjoyment out of them! See I'd almost suggest getting the 3-6 month and the 6-12 month, b/c they'd look ADORABLE on tiny little baby feet (3-6 mo) too, you know? But that's just me!

Re: Babies and shoes...
At about 2 mts I put Cailen in Robeez - before that, I just used Trumpette socks that look like sneakers... He will kick off any shoes with that hard rubber soul like that - I wanted them too, and had a pair of Gap ones that he never wore...
Even at 9 mts old, he still wears Robeez. He will not keep any sneakers on, and I gave up on putting them on him. I am going to wait until he walks until I get him real sneakers, and YES - they will be Vans too!!!

Re: Babies and shoes...
I say put them on as early as possible...I made this mistake by NOT doing so, and my boys now give me sauch a hard time wearing them or eevn walking in them. I sih I put them on early on.

Re: Babies and shoes...
DS has been wearing shoes since the day I took him home. I only recently though (at 7 months) have been buying shoes with soles on them since he is now pulling himself up to stand. Many of the size one & 2's have soft bottoms, so they flex well with the baby's foot.

Those are the cutest shoes ever!
My sis had put shoes on her 3 kids and nothing happened to them. I tried to put shoes on my dd for christmas, but even the 0-3 was too big. Shes got small feet like Mommy (I wear a kids 2).
eta: i vote 6-12m

Re: Babies and shoes...
When we are home they are barefoot. But I've always put shoes on my boys when we go out. Until they were walking, I put soft sole shoes/booties on them (never Robeez I personally hate them, too busy for me). I just think it makes the outfits more complete with shoes.
