Re: Babies at around 5-6 weeks old
My daugher will be 5 weeks tomorrow and she is more awake during the day...sometimes just crying and other times playing on the activity mat or just hanging out...we have been having issues with formula and she is gassy so she is not always so happy. We thought she was doing great on the soy and now the last two days she has been fussy..(she had her first shot on monday)...we really are not on any type of set schedule during the day!
how about you?

Re: Babies at around 5-6 weeks old
Dominic is 6 weeks, when he is not sleeping or eating...
He goes in the swing, he goes on the gymini activity mat, or on a tummy time mat, he plays in the bouncy seat, I lay him in the crib and he looks at the mobile. I'll hold little toys/rattles up for him, I sing to him, we go for walks. I read to him sometimes.
I have tried the Baby Einstein videos a couple of times, but he does not seem to be into them yet.

Re: Babies at around 5-6 weeks old
James is 7 weeks old. I try to take him out every day, whether it be for a trip to the store or just a walk in his stroller. When we are at home, I put him in his crib so he can look at his mobile and toys. I'll put him in his swing, on his tummy time mat, or in his pack and play. I'll sing/talk to him and show him his toys, etc.

Re: Babies at around 5-6 weeks old
Stupid question...
But what's a tummy time mat? Well, I know what it's for, but I've never seen one.
Thanks!

I have an Einstein one - it can be used for belly (has bright colored materials, pictures of fish, etc) or for baby on back (has things dangling, mirror). There is a music and light attachment that can be motion activated. Activity Mat
