Baby brontosaurus is now weighing in at.....
a whopping 8 pounds 12 ounces. 
Estimated weight at birth..... over 11 pounds. The nurses today at Labor and Delivery had one word for me: Drugs!

Not going early. Just because he's big doesn't mean he's developed. Doctor confirmed that about an hour ago. C-section looking likely.

First, they are now called Brachiosaurus (I was corrected a couple of years ago by my then 4 year old ) apparently brontosaurus is wrong. (yeah, and Pluto is no longer a planet...whatever.)
Second, my son weighed 8 pounds 12 oz. at his 6week (and 3 day) check up!!!!
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must say I do enjoy reading you describe your baby like this though...sometimes it is the only thing making me laugh after a long day dealing with 2 kids!

Wow! I don't think I can have you beat. I think you'll be the LIF record holder.
If you got a lot of NB size clothes I'd keep the tags on so you can return if they are correct.
Have they changed your due date?

Those measurements aren't always that accurate... they told me DD was going to be well over 8 lbs at birth and she was 6 lbs 9oz...
you may be surprised!

In answer to the questions:
My due date remains 8/30 (I might kill someone by then)
No, I don't have GD, but they are sending me AGAIN for the 1 hour test.
Yes, big babies run in the family, and DH's family doesn't have small babies either.
BRACHIOSAUR?!?!!? How can they change the name of something that doesn't even exist anymore?!?!?! I'm going to look like an idiot to my son.

My husband's friend weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces at birth.
He told me that about a week before I had my baby - I almost killed him.
My measurements were all off also - they estimated at least an 8 pound baby for me, and she was 7 pounds 1 ounce.
Hopefully, their measurements are wrong for you as well!!

wow My son was born 3 weeks early and he was 9-1/2 lbs.. He was on target to have been an 11 pounder! I did not have GD either. Nothing wrong with big babies!

i was told at my 36 week sono that she was 8 lbs and when she was born olivia weighed 9 lbs 13 oz. nothing wrong with a big baby.
