Baby Center Emails - UPDATE

So when I was pregnant I signed up for some emails from the baby sites.

I have asked them to take me off the mailing list NUMEROUS times since the mc.

I'm still getting them!!! They won't stop sending them... and they are going along with the progression of the pregnancy. So now all the emails coming are "in prepartion for the arrival of your baby".

If that's not depressing, I don't know what is!!!

SOOOO... I got a STRANGE phone call from babycenter.com

I was having a badddd day the other day... and I was all upset. I get a phone call.. and it's a woman asking to speak to a kathleen. I say that she has the wrong number. The lady then says she's from babycenter.com and this kathleen signed up for all this free stuff and since she has my number, would I like her to send it to me?


DH was sitting right with me when it happened. I was literally crying when the phone rang.
I didn't even know how to answer this woman... other than to say "NO THANK YOU" very stern and then I hung up. Afterwards I thought about how I should have told her to delete me and take my email addresses off her lists because i keep getting emails from them too. But I didn't think of it at the time... I was in such shock.

I can't believe I got a phone call. I NEVER posted my phone number anywhere when I signed up for things and my name isn't Kathleen at all. i think this Kathleen must have a similar phone number and a mistake was made somewhere along the line.

ugh tell me about it!!!

I signed up for a free sample of diapers, a free sample of some nipple things for when you breast feed and I had even ordered the bella bands bc I was so bloated -- I was devastated when they started coming in the mail....I just saved them in a draw that I never open bc I'll eventually get to use them all.



Try clicking one as spam and then future ones will go right into your spam folder, that's what I had to do.

I completely know how you feel. I get so much stuff in the real mail too. I actually sent a nasty email to one company - I want to say it was called Giggle. About 2 and a half months ago I got a catalog from them with all sorts of baby stuff...I had never even heard of them before!!! So I sent them an email telling them to take me off of their distribution list because I had recently had a full term loss, and getting this cr@p in the mail was the LAST thing I wanted to come home to...

I'm still waiting to see if it worked!

I've said it before, but it's really just such a shame how much people take for granted that all pregnancies end happily...We've gone through enough pain, and now we get dealt with more...

I knowwwwwwwww i cant take all the emails and stuff...last month i acutally received a free sample of ENFAMIL in a huge box who does that!

I had that happened to me too. I notified them to remove me, and they never stopped!!!

I also had VIACORD calling my home and leave message MANY times. Prior to my 1st M/C a friend of mine used VIACORD and referred me. Well those stupid PHONE CALLS NEVER STOPPED.

I would try putting it in SPAM and see if that helps.

I keep getting the baby center emails as well, and I have asked numerous times to take me off. Its soo upsetting.
I know that I get them every Tuesday afternoon, so I cringe every time I hear my iphone go off with a new email on Tuesdays. I dont want to know the progress of the baby that I M/C anymore

The same thing happened to me...when I was pregnant this time I was so scared to sign up for baby center again for that reason!

I also kept getting parenthood magazines after...and I cried when I got them aftwards...turns out I have still been getting them all year and DH was throwing them out before i could see them...so sweet of him. He told me he didn't want me to cry....

This kept happening to me too.

I forget how exactly, but there is a way to "report a m/c" (a little unsympathetic I know, like why is it their business? ) but anyway, once you do that, they stop sending the emails. It worked for me.

Sorry you are going through this It took me a while to figure it out; I was getting the emails until practically my DD

I KNOW!!!!! I just delete everything! I'm still getting wedding e-mails too, but those don't bother me as much!

I still get WhatToExpect emails even though I have unsubscribed. I get parenting and some baby magazine..both of which I don't recall signing up for. Coupons to BBB and BRU are a regular in the mail too.

I also got those ice pack nursing pads in the mail! I did sign up for them cause they were free and seemed like a good idea but now feel silly that I have them.

My hubby deleted my LilyPie ticker from igoogle before I logged onto the computer after finding out so I didn't get upset seeing it.

save them all for when the time comes- (everyone says "think positive") and you can write an email to them saying you endured 2 years of BS when you were miserable and now they owe u a ton of stuff for enduring their relentless crap bc NOW the day has finally come that u have ur baby! it WILL happen for all of us in one way or another. stay strong&think positive.
