Baby Crack
Holy Crap, Baby Einstein is like crack for babies.
Noah has watched Baby Van Gogh 4 times already today and seems happy to watch it again, he loves yellow and blue, but is not so keen on purple.
I managed to vacuum, dust and have lunch! I could kiss that lady who invented it.
God bless the baby einsteins.

Re: Baby Crack
This is the first week that Noah seems interested. He also has a toy that he loves to hold...none of the other babies at playgroup can do that. Harvard here we come. Does being British born to an american mother exclude him from the presidency??? Image Attachment(s):

Re: Baby Crack
I bought the whole 15 DVD collection and only 3 are open. Andrew never liked it, he's still not big into TV these days. I guess I am lucky, or not so lucky, depending on how you look at it!

Re: Baby Crack
I'm so jealous, I think Logan is the only child that doesn't like Baby Einstein (or any cartoons for that matter). I put Baby Einstein on for him and a few minutes later he starts to cry. I haven't tried it in a couple of weeks but I'm going to try again today....wish me luck

Re: Baby Crack
Claire is addicted to them as well, she is 15 months old and still loves them. The videos have taught her so much about shapes, colors, numbers, and a bunch of words.
We also have about 5 of the hand puppets!

They also work on teenagers. We had it going on the TV at Jack's Christening Party and he feel asleep in his bouncy seat but it fully entertained my 19, 17, 16 and 14 year old inlaws.. lol

Re: Baby Crack
My friend call is this too. My son loves it as well but now that he is onlder he likes to sit on my lap and watch it - so sweet but I still can't get anything done...lol
He has favorites for entertainment and napping. Van Gogh is great for his naps but Neighborhood Animals are pure entertainment.

They only capture Christopher's attention for short periods of time. He gets bored with things too quickly.

Re: Baby Crack
We also have the whole Baby Einstein DVD collection. I think they're a life saver, but I feel sooooo guilty if I let her watch more than 1 per day, so I usually limit it to 1.
I read something in Time magazine recently, something to the effect like the babies almost physically *can't* look away because there's always something new on the screen which draws their attention. Also, children who are overexposed to these "educational" videos have a hard time concentrating in real life because of these rapidly changing images they've seen on the screen, does this make sense the way I've phrased it? The article also says that they are not, in fact, helping children learn in the long run.
I don't know, Katherine still watches them, but it does make me a bit nervous.
