Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
I hate it so much!! my little one has a terrible case of eye gook!!! in the beginning it was a occassional occurance, and I would massage his ducts all the time, NOW its constant, he is going to be 8 weeks old tomorrow, and the eye gook doesnt go away. Sometimes he wakes up from a nap and he can't open his eyes I HATE it! I clean then out every chance I get, which he hates, any advice, everytime we went to the dr. I asked and he just said just clean with cloth and water.
HELP!!!!!!
thanks

Re: Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
Jared usually gets this clear filmy stuff on one eye and I use a warm washcloth to get it out.

Re: Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
Alex gets this every once in awhile. I wipe with a warm wash cloth and my ped gave me drops to put in his eye. They usually work in one day. Ped says this is normal and can occur up until they are 10 months old.

Its a clogged eye duct. It will go away on its own. Just keep washing it clean wish a wash cloth. Jake had this too and it did eventually go away.

Re: Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
My son had this and one day it just stopped on its own. Just continue to massage the ducts.

Re: Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
Ryan had this from a congenital blocked tear duct. It cleared up on its own at 8 months but it was a PITA.

Re: Baby Eye gook or clogged tear ducts
My son had this when he was small too.. we later discovered it was part of his allergies.. and the Dr. gave us drops.. I always felt bad giving it to him, but they seemed to clear it up a lot faster and without as much of a mess. Good Luck!
