Baby food portions...how do I know what's enough for DD?
We just started solids this past week. She had Oatmeal and apples and tomorrow we are starting Bananas.
I have no idea if I'm giving DD enough or too much. She is 6 months old...EBF.
I was giving her 2 Tbsp of cereal....then once I started apples...2 ounces of Apples and 1 Tbsp on cereal...2 times a day. Is that too much? She actually is LOVING solids and gets sooo excited when I put her in her highchair. And when I feed her she opens her mouth wide and kicks her legs and waves her arms when she wants more. Tonight....I felt like she still wanted more food so I have her and extra ounce of apples...and then I stopped...but I think she could have kept on eating.
She's a little chunker...at 5 months she was over 18 lbs. I want to make sure I don't over feed her....I get comments all the time about how chunky she is. I don't really care...because she is the cutest and my Dr.said BF'd babies don't over eat...but now on solids I want to make sure. Do babies know when to stop??
How much are you feeding your 6 month olds?!?!
Thanks!

My DS is 5 months old and I give him 2-3 tablespoons of cereal with 3 tablespoons of fruit/veggie 2 times a day. I also BF four times a day (every 4 hours).

Thanks for writing back...I wasn't going to start giving DD solids until after her 6 months appointment so I have no clue what I'm doing. DD usually BF every 3-4 hours and STTN. I guess I am giving her enough...makes me feel better!
Thank you :)
