Baby gift to be delivered..
My coworker just had her baby yesterday.. 10 days late and 36 hours of labor I want to send her something since I won't be able to go see her tomorrow with everybdy else since I am going on vacation. Should I send something to the hospital or to her house? What is good - flowers, food, baby clothes??? Usually I would get an outfit but I would bring that myself. To have something delivered, what are some good ideas?

To her house. I loved Cookies By Design's edible arrangements. But loved monogrammed Polo shirts too.

Flowers are a lovely but they are a waste. As a new mom I really appreciated when people sent any type of food.

Food...a new mom will definitely appreciate it! I have contacted a local restaurant before to make a couple meals (or tray of food that can be served as dinner) and deliver it. It is always a big hit.

I send them to everyone for everything and I think they are so reasonably priced, too!

Re: Baby gift to be delivered..
I like the idea of sending like a care package of bagels and appropriate condiments-- cream cheese, lox, jelly, etc.
For one-- bagels do not need to be cooked, they can be frozen and it's easy for people to make themselves-- as they will probably have a lot of visitors.
You can order something like this from Zabars.com-- or call a local bagel place.

Re: Baby gift to be delivered..
honestly.....food is awesome, maybe you could whip up a basket and have a coworker deliver it? box of pasta, jar of sauce, loaf of bread?
how about a dozen bagels, butter, cream cheese, fresh fruit?
OR....
order a case of diapers and wipes from Amazon.com...they will deliver it right to her door!
and send it to the house.....the less you have to bring home from the hospital the better!
