Yesterday I told MIL the name we picked out for  and she says:
"Oh, how do you spell that?"
"I guess I'll have to get used to it"
and MY personal favorite:
"I'll just call him baby Adam (DH's name)"
Ummmm - no, you won't - that's NOT his name!!!!!!!

Im not PG but Dh and i know the neames we like and want and when i shared the  name w/ my MIL, she gave an awful look.

our last name is leh (pronounced Ly/Lee)...so when people asked, i told my dh to reply....he'll tell them we're thinking of the names...FABULOUS or INCREDIBLE.
their reply: what? you're going to name your kid Fabulously??

We've gotten a lot of negative reactions to all of our names: Eamon, Jack, Cormac.

I am lucky that I haven't gotten any horrible responses - everyone is letting us know their favorites (which I am completely fine with).
I just don't understand why some it bothers some people that we are waiting to see before deciding on her name

We're just telling people we have 3 picked out, but we're waiting for the baby to be born. Basically for this exact reason! I don't want to hear people's comments.

Why do people think you want their opinions on names YOU have chosen for YOUR baby???
My MIL asked me today if DH and I had discussed names...I told her that's one thing we'll try to keep to ourselves until the baby is born (because I know she'll tell everyone and they'll share their ideas and thoughts, and I'll re-think the names unnecessarily)....I would rather announce it at the birth and have no room for discussions. I kinda felt bad when i saw the look on her face when I told her I wouldn't share the names with her....she looked kind of hurt, but what's wrong with wanting to share these conversations only with DH and not the entire world?
