baby naming? jewish mommies?

Anyone that did a baby naming, how far in advance did you book it...and where did you do it, and do all rabbi's perform it? Any advice would be appreciated

DD was born in December and are looking to do it in May when the weather is nicer and DH is done with Grad school for the summer...

We are actually doing a baby naming/1st Birthday party for Chloe.. This is what worked best for my family..

Our own rabbi would not do a baby naming unless it was done at the temple so I had to look elsewhere. I was referred to Temple Chaverim in Plainview and their assistant Rabbi will be performing the ceremony for us..

We are having it at the Marriot Residence Inn in Plainview. Weare having over 100 people so we needed to find someplace to accomodate. We booked it back in November..

I would advise looking now because there are many communions and stuff in May..

we called our Rabbi after dd was born. She was born 11/26/06 and we had it in February 07 so we were a few months after like you did. We had it in a country club. It really isnt alot of trouble. You dont have to stress yet. Notify your Rabbi that you will be having one in May.

We did ours at a temple but weren't members. DD was born at the end of Oct and we did her baby naming in March. We wanted to wait till the weather got a little better and she was a few months old. We booked probably about 3 months in advance.
