Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
a breast pump (if you registred for one)? I notice that this and all the accessories are still on the list - I get the feeling that no one realy wants to buy it - which I understand. Maybe I should have left that off the list.
Just wanted to see if anyone got one.

I haven't had my shower(s) yet, but I highly doubt anyone will buy mine since it is $320

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
Didn't register for this. When DH and went thru the store he said we'll just get this stuff and I kinda agreed. It would be weird for me to buy one for someone unless I was their mom.

I know you can rent one from hospital and that is cheaper.

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
my BF registered for a really expensive one- and I was just looking at her registry picking out what I was going to get her- and I noticed someone bought hers!
I'm going to register for one- and if someone buys it great- if not- oh well.

Yeah we had the same conve, me & DH. Actually we are going to rent one rather than buy, so I would not register for it anyway in the end.
My friend used all her GCs to pay for her BP at BBB.

They are so much cheaper online at other stores other than BBB and BRU so I didn't register for mine.

I know that same may be leary to buy it b/c of "what" it is. Also, I believe that you cannot exchange/return breastpumps. Leave it on b/c 1-you never know someone MAY buy it. OR 2-if you want to buy it after the shower you can.

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
Thanks everyone! The responses all lead to what I am thinking - most people don't get them as gifts.
Which is fine - kinda expected that. I mean...I have to be real - between price and the fact that it is booby related I wouldn't have thought to buy it for someone either.
I planned to buy it and some good points have been brought up about finding it cheaper at other places including online. Unless I have a bunch of gift cards it sounds real smart to start some comparison shopping.

Also consider if you get any duplicates or items you want to return, you'd have store credit. DH and I brought stuff back last night, it was $103!!

I registered for one with my first, and I didn't get it or any of the accessories. I ended up having to use gift cards to buy mine.

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
I bought the accessories for a friend's shower, lol!! I knew nobody else would.
I registered, but more so that I remember wich one I want -I don't think anyone will get it for me. Even my friend said "All you have left is the breast pump -- what can I get you?"
I was like, well I NEED the pump so why not get it? But whatever

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
I just registered for it and my mom was about to pay for it and my mom makes friends with the cashier as usual (she is an overly excited grandmother to be!!! She tells EVERYONE!) and the cashier convinces her NOT to buy the pump until after the baby is born. Supposedly it's the only thing at BBB that cannot be returned under any circumstances and there is a chance that breastfeeding might not work for me and the baby. The person recommended waiting until I got home from the hospital to decide if we were in it for the long haul. So my mom convinced them to take it off the registery anyway so no one purchased it and then called me asking me what I felt comfortable with and I completely agreed with her. I rather not waste $300+ and I would feel guilty if I ended up never using it.....

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
Totally off topic...St Charles Hospital is an authorized Medela retailer and they sell the breast pumps there (in the gift shop) for a lot cheaper than BRU and BBB...

Re: Baby Shower - did anyone receive...
I didn't put it on the registry.
I felt like it was icky to ask someone to buy it for me.
I bought mine today at Target - they sent me a $20 coupon for the Medela one I wanted.
