Baby shower cake ... any good bakeries out there?
DH and I are getting our own shower cake to help my mom who is throwing our shower.
we would love to get a cute creative cake , any ideas or places would be great!!
PS.. we went to Dortoni's yesterday and they wanted $350 for a cake.. is this the norm? or should we just stick with a sheet cake?

I had a beautiful shower cake by Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst it was 175 im gonna find a pic ...it was like a three d baby carriage

Wanna laugh De? King Kullen Bakery-my family gets sheet cakes there all of the time, including for my college graduation and you know how picky I am! It was sooo yummy and everyone raved about it-best part was that it is not pricey! I would definitely give that a shot-get a small cake to try to see what you think and then go from there. When we do Miss Bean's naming, Jeff and I will probably get her cake there!

yea they do have good cakes!
i will end up there if we can't find a good price for a specialty cake

i got my sisters shower cake at stanleys bakery in east islip, it was so cute & tasted great & the best part was it was about 40.00. ill try to get a pic

try CMNY - Cakes by Mona! She did my wedding cake and also my groom's cake and she is fabulous! Her smaller cakes run between 250-350 (in 2008)!
She is (was) in Levittown by Tri-County!

My shower cake came from Alpine bakery in Smithtown. It wasn't a 3-D cake, but it was beautifully decorated and delicious. It also wasn't very expensive.

East Meadow has Sweet Kharma Patisserie... SOOOOO Good! and they do amazing work. We used them for our wedding - and they were significantly cheaper than Dortoni... and better.

honestly my favorite tasting cakes are from Costco and BJs.
The fancy ones are definately much cuter but IMO not as tasty

They have wonderful cakes! I use them all the time and everyone comments on how good they are. Plus I have taken pics from the web in and they have made the exact cake. They can do anything!
