I think anything you are invited to (if you attend or not) you should send a gift.

I would absolutely send a gift. Even if you're not financially in the place to send something, you can get an outfit for less than $20.

i agree, you should send a gift.why not get the American Academy of Pediatrics book, it is only about $20 and is a great resource for new Moms.

You should always send something when you can't go to a shower - it doesn't have to be expensive - you can send something that you can afford.
