Baby Shower Games....

Has anyone been to a baby shower lately? What games did you play?

I'm planning my sisters and have come up with "the pacifier game" which is where I Give each guest a cute pacifier necklace when they arrive and explain the rules to them. If you say "BABY" and someone hears you, that person gets your pacifier necklace. At the end of the shower, the person with the most necklaces is the WINNER!!

& Also Baby Word Scrambler....

I need another and really don't feel like doing Bingo...AGAIN! lol

Also, what are some good prizes...i was thinking of doing gift baskets (which is what I did for her bridal shower)

I only did a word game, something my sis put together.

Instead of BINGO ( can get a little out of control) We used a timer while I opened gifts and whosever gift I was opening, if timer went off..they got a prize.

As for prizes, we went to Target...hit up the dollar section, got some nice lotions, frames, notepads, photo albums etc.

ETA: Oh and someone I know did small gift cards for like $5 to certain stores.

At my baby shower there was a diaper bag guessing game. My diaper bag was filled and people had to guess what was inside (basically what should be inside). After they completed the sheets I went up and went through the bag announcing each item I found inside. There was a winner from each table (person to get the most correct).

There was also a cute game where one side of the sheet had candy names and the other had pregancy related words and you had to match them up...for example: contraction = whopper

For prizes...Homegoods and Marshalls has really great items that the women went crazy for - salad serving sets, bodrum water coolers, picture frames.

Someone once mentioned gift cards - like for target ($5 - $10) that is a great idea!

my friends coordinated a game where a few guests chosen had to taste those baby gerber food in those tiny little mini bottles and guess what it is.

it was funny.

We did the guess mommy bellys size, Everyone had to cut a piece of that plastic streamer they use for this. And whoever was closest to the size of my belly won a prize. I went to another shower and they played the dirty diaper game. Hope it doesnt gross you out though lol.

Every person that came in got a diaper, They were all rolled up as if they were used. Everyone had to open them and the person who opened the one with the mustard inside won a prize.

We did Bingo and had one of those big baby bottles filled with blue m&m's and the person who guessed closest to the amount won the bottle and another prize.
I think we did a raffle too.

We did a really funny one at mine just a few weeks ago. Both moms were asked, in advance, to come up with some cute things that the mom and dad-to-be did as babies. Then guests had to guess which parent-to-be did them. What our moms didn't know is that we got together with our siblings and turned the tables on them. We asked 'which mom did.....' It was a big hit!!

Alot of the ones listed above sound fun. One shower I went to, they did The Price Is Right -- they had a bunch of baby items (shampoo, Balmex, pkg of washcloths, travel container of wipes, etc) and everybody had to try to guess the total cost. The person closest without going over won. I also really liked the timer game at one shower I was at.

The last shower I was at involved two games...well, one wasn't techincally a game. Anyhow...

1. Decorate a Onesie - my friend but a bunch of plain white gerber onesies and tons of puggy paint and fabric markers and everyone desgined one... they came out quite cute!

2. Guess what's in the diaper - melted chunks of different candy bars in diapers and whoever got them all right (or the most right) won! Kinda gross, but fun!
