baby shower gift
i am going to a shower on sunday...a friend not a super close one, but still a friend of mine. my mom knits and everyone always wants one of her blankets. i had my mom make one for my friends baby. (it came out AMAZING!!) do i still get soemthing else too?

I think people go so overboard these days with gifts. I think the blanket sounds lovely - why should you give more??? A card and a unique, hand-made blanket...I would love that!!

after i posted was thinking of maybe adding something like a GC for a pedicure for the mommy...but thank you! now i know i dotn have to add clothes etc.

I am making a blanket for a baby shower & also getting a gift.
I think of the blanket more as just " a little something extra" , but I am just a beginner, so the blanket isn't that fancy & this is a very close friend.

No I think that is fine. But if they are having a wishing well get a little something for this. You can even but a rattle or something like that and tie it to the top of your gift.

The blanket is a very generous gift. I am a knitter and I have made blankets for close friends/family. Depending on the blanket, it can take upward of a month or more to make. No need to give anything else.

PS-Jodi-they dont even KNOW what a wishing well is down here in MD. SOOO weird, but nobody knew from down here for my shower and neither did some of my BP

i TOTALLY agree...i mean i didnt go totally overboard...but sh isnt a super close friend either. (and i miss LI SOO much pedis here are SOOO expensive!)

i think that a hand made blanket is worth so much more than any gift. IMO you do not need to give an additional gift..
