Baby Shower locations
I do not want to be surprised for my shower. I want to help plan it. Can you ladies give some inexpensive locations to look into?
I heard many good things about the Irish Coffe Pub, but they want $31pp & that is out of my budget considering the amount of people I need to invite. The Holiday Inn on Vets Highway is only $20pp & that is more in my price range. I am just looking for other suggestions to check out. Suffolk county is preferred, but would be willing to look in Nassau since many family members would be coming from Queens anyway....
TIA!

Westbury manor has a room upstairs, for parties (i had my wedding there) and it wasnt exspensive and food was delicious.

Re: Baby Shower locations
I had mine at the Carriage House in Babylon, but I think it was in the $30 pp range - not sure, my mom & MIL threw it for me. Not sure if this place would have the space for the amount of people, but Milk & Sugar in Bay Shore is adorable & I hear it is great for parties (I've only been to eat brunch & dinner). Also, my friend had hers at the Garden Grill in Smithtown, it was great.

I did too, but to have it at their house it would have to outside. There is not enough room inside for everyone. Since I am due in December, we are lookingto have the shower on 10/18 or 11/1. It will be too chilly/cold by then to have the shower outside.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked out their website & they are $25pp which is reasonable, but that is only for 3 hours. I am looking for at least 4 hours.

Re: Baby Shower locations
call some smaller restaurants.
we had my rehearsal dinner and my baby shower at a local italian restaurant. it's not a "typical" shower place...just a nice restaurant. it was only $18 pp and that included wine, beer, appetizers, salad and main course, and coffee/tea! and they don't pull that 18% gratuity + tax crap that bigger places do. it's in nassau though so that wouldn't help you.
call around to your favorite restaurants...it can't hurt!

My mom went to a shower at Mama Lombardi's and said it was really good. I have no idea how much they charge though!

Re: Baby Shower locations
You can also try Orlando's in Commack and Papa Joes in Deer Park, both on Commack Road. Both have very reasonable pricing.
I personally have never eaten at either one, but I have heard really good things about Papa Joes and I know a lot of people do showers at Orlando's.
Orlando's shower menu
Papa joe's catering menu
For Papa Joe's, scroll down for the set menus, starting at $25.95 PP including beer, wine, soda.

Yeah, mine will be around the same time. My mom said it depends on how many people we invite. I am going to try to keep the list on the small side so it can be there.
I am going to a friend's shower this weekend at Smithtown Landing CC, maybe you can check them out. I also know that Old Street Pub in Smithtown has a private room for showers.

Mullberry Stret in Babylon was $19 pp when we looked last year. They were booked for the day I needed but they have good food and service there.

mine was at my house but I had DS christnening and have been to a baby shower at the Bulldog in Amityville (merrick rd) It was really good and i think I paid about 20 pp. I had it on a sunday morning so i didnt include alcohol but they did a whole buffet with unlimited soda coffe and tea and even supplied the cake.. they have 2 rooms.. the one downstairs is for a party of under 20 people i think.. i had the upstairs and it was great :)

Although I am not supposed to know this, my Mom is having my shower at Wave (the old Danfords) (and she is very picky)in Port Jefferson and I hear it's excellent now.
Good luck!
