baby shower this weekend... need a little help
i'll be hosting a baby shower for a friend on sunday. the theme is "a baby is brewing"... so it's a tea party.
i made the invites in the shape of a teacup with the info on a teabag inside.
the favors will be a teacup candle, i found the instructions on marthastewart.com. i'm also including a candy spoon to sweeten tea.
the decor will be hydrangeas (mom-to-be's favorite flower).
i've bought a tea set. there will be tea sandwiches, scones, teas, non-alcoholic sangria (mom-to-be's favorite drink)
we're playing only two games.
I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO FOR THE CENTERPIECE!!!!
these are the ideas: baby-clothes-hoagie diaper cake diaper carriage diaper baby

What about using tea pots as flower containers? Odd job/Amazing Savings type places may have inexpensive ones.

You can usually find cake stands at TJMaxx/Marshalls/Homegoods - really nices ones that almost look like Lenox - for under $20.
I would suggest one per table and either:
- Pile up the favor on top for each guest - Get some cookies in a platter wrapped in cellophane to put on top
Just an idea - I am in love with cake stands lately.

IKEA has tall metal watering cans for $5 each! They are great. I tied colored raffia (you can use pink and blue) around the tops and made a bow.
Stop and Shop has great flowers, 3 bunches for $10!
You can also do balloons.....
Party City also has pink and blue plastic baby blocks you can throw on the table.....

i did not know this... i can make topiaries with large teacups.
that and maybe flowers in a teapot.
i think that could work.
thank you all for your ideas.
i wasn't too sure about all the diaper "stuff" but i was drawing a blank.

I love the thought of the flowerpot as the centerpiece. They did this for my cousin and it was beautiful. They picked up inexpensive pots, painted them white with pink babies feet on them

Everything sounds great !!
My sister got potted mums ... for the Mom-to-be!! She put one on each table and guests took them home. Not too expensive, and it's something that will last!!
