Baby Stuff Overload
My sister and I visited some stores to do some preliminary looking around. We went to a couple of Denny's stores and BBB.
There is much stuff out there all of which is marketed so well , that it makes you feel like you have to have it all when most of it is completely unnecessary. It makes me think that our parents had to be that much more creative with us to keep us safe, looking good and entertained.
I am quite a few weeks away from registering and the process does not entice me at all I don't like doing things online because I like to see what I am getting in person. Im going to need to psych myself up for this.
Sorry for the rant - just cranky today.

Re: Baby Stuff Overload
I agree with you - I got completely overwhelmed at BBB when I initially went to register. I also added some items or want to change some on my BRU registry that I've seen on line - BUT like you I want to see the items first and want to make sure the items I'm changing (little things like going from the Medela Breast pump with Metro bag to the regular less expensive bag) are actually in any of the local stores. I heard that if they aren't in the stores you can't exchange them if you need to, so just b/c it's available on line doesn't mean they'll exchange it if you don't like it. In fact my stroller system I'm registered for is in NONE Of the BRU stores - I registered for it on line, but I know Baby Depot carries it so even though I'm not registering there, I need to get my butt over to Baby Depot to at least see the item I registered for at BRU. I may also want to take one last look at a stroller alternate too. It's exhausting on top of everything else I have to do between now and the end of April.

Re: Baby Stuff Overload
My end registry is not what I started with. I must have changed it 5 times.
I suggest to start one to use as a "check list". Then as you do more research you could always modify your choices.
It is a bit overwhelming. BRU has a check list (way too big for us!) but it's a great start.

Re: Baby Stuff Overload
The most overwhelming thing ever. I did a lot of market research- asking moms what was and wasn't really necessary. That helped. Plus I tackled the registry in sections- I did equipment over 2 visits (strollers, car seat, pack n play, bouncer seat, high chair, etc.) then little stuff that was gender neutral (sleep positioner, bath, diaper bag, etc) then all the other little stuff i didn't realize I needed. Researching with Baby Bargains and asking other mothers their opinions first helped the in store experience.
ETA- I realized my answer has nothing to do with your post.

Re: Baby Stuff Overload
That is what I always walk out of Denny's with a bag full of unnecessary stuff, because I just cant resist the clothing they have!!
