Baby wash and detergents
Ok I thought I remember a thread on here about what products to use on babies. I thought I read Johnson and Johnson is not a good brand to use. Someone gave me a small gift basket at my shower of their products but now afraid to use them. Are there certain brands that are better than others?
Also what type of detergent do you use. I got dreft as a gift but I hear mix reviews on that as well. What are you all using? I want to do any last minute shopping this weekend and start washing clothes
Thanks!

Re: Baby wash and detergents
I personally won't use J&J. DD has eczema/allergies and I use Mustela Stelatopia...I've also used Babo Botanicals and California Baby, which are both great too.
For laundry, Dreft is terrible and has so many chemicals. I usually use Greenshield.
I always look on the Environmental Working Group websites... Link And their Skin Deep website for cosmetics (soaps, sunscreen, etc.) Link

Baby wash and detergents
I used dove sensitive skin soap on my son. Aveno baby shampoo for his hair. He has very sensitive skin.
For detergent I use all free and clear for all of our clothes.

We use burts bees or honest company for soap
Honest company, seventh generation, or babyganics for laundry

Thank you for posting. I'm suprised that honest company detergent has a C rating.
Where do you buy Greensheild products?

Re: Baby wash and detergents
If you use Dreft, you might as well use any other laundry detergent...like Tide. It's just as full of dyes and perfumes. It's marketed for babies but it is terrible. I used whichever free and clear detergent was on sale.
I used Aquafor baby wash. It had no scent at all.

Don't get me started on the EWG. They are a bunch of anti-vax nobodies. The FDA is trying to shut them down.
I use aquaphor and dreft. DD eats like an animal and rolls around at daycare so that "all natural" stuff isn't going to cut it.

me too, love aveeno and aquaphor and anything made for sensitive skin. I give DS oatmeal baths to help soothe his red, rough skin. My ds has horrible eczema & extremely dry skin & is very sensitive to anything. I accidentally washed his clothes in regular detergent & for a few days he was itching like CRAZY, I changed his sheets, everything & then I realized I think it was the detergent so I had to rewash everything in free and clear.

Laundry detergent just use a free and clear. And I used J & J stuff and my ds is perfectly healthy. And I used it when I was a baby and I made to 43 with no major health issues.

Interesting...after looking at the site I'm a little confused about how the products earn their letter grade. The system seems to be a little inconsistent.

Anything free and clear for detergent. I think dreft is a scam lol
I've used j&j in a pinch but generally use mustela, burts bees, aquaphor, or babyganics

Dreft sucks. The smell is over powering. As pp have said anything free and clear. For baby wash we used babyganics.

I use Arm & Hammer free & clear for all of us. Use white vinegar as a fabric softener for baby clothes - and it disinfects. I use J & J pink wash and the lavender scented cream. I have no issues with it and their skin.

Tide free and clear when he ds was a newborn /infant. Now I use whatever we use for ourselves. I think BJ pods or Tide pods mostly...whatever is on sale.
I used J&J for a while, I never knew it was "controversial." I use babyganics now for the most part but still use J&J from time to time...my DS doesn't have sensitive skin and had no issues with it. We really don't keep strictly organic as a family.
