Baby Weight and Sleeping all nite
is it true, that the baby should reach a specific weight when they sleep all night.. or injest a specific amt of oz

I've heard 12 lbs. are needed to sleep all night. Not all babies will sleep through the night when they are 12, but that's generally where they start doing this.

ummmmm no - not in my case. jack was 10lbs at birth - and 12lbs by three weeks. Had nothing to do with making him a better sleeper at all.

What I read was that they physiologically don't need to eat in the middle of the night once they hit 12lbs... so basically they CAN sleep through at that point but that doesn't mean they will.
Elizabeth is over 15lbs and she woke up twice last night.

I had a big boy and it had no correlation with sleeping. He started sleeping through the night around 3 months, but wasn't consistent until 5 months. He was probably 12 pounds at 1 month.

DD was a preemie...and started sleeping through the night at 11-12 weeks old (only 5 weeks corrected age) and she was only 9lbs 5 oz. at 3 months old.

Reallyl Kristin? And you're BF, right? I'm SO jealous!
Although I wonder if Ryan is going to get better soon. He's still up every 2 hours at night but the past 3-4 nights he barely eats when he wakes so I'm wondering if it's just for comfort and soon there will be some sleep in it for me! He is almost 7wks and probably 11lbs+ now (was 10lb13oz last week)

DD is 15 lbs. now and started sleeping 2 weeks ago 8-6 like 5 nights in a row. Last night she was up at 12, 1:30 and 5:30 She has pink eye though so I think that was bothering her.
