Babyfood questions

1)I am making homemade babyfood. The recipes call for using the water that the veg/fruit is made in. Can I use formula instead and then just freeze it like normal?

2)When I am finished introducing Gerber Stage 1 foods for 5 days each and I move onto Stage 2, do I need to continue this or can I just give them any stage 2 food I want each day? And as for making the food myself, could I just make things that Stage 1 didn’t have, like corn for example? Do people really introduce every single food for 3-5 days each that is out there? If so, why does stage 2 have combined foods that Stage 1 doesn’t make? Hope this makes sense.

3)As for the Stage 2 foods with DHA, same as above, can I just give this to my babies after I complete Stage 1?

I don't know about the formula.... I have just been using the water like the recipes talk about, and the food comes out perfect.

As long as they have been introduced for the prescribed amount of days with no reaction, then you can give them whenever you want. You are doing the 3-5 days to make sure that there is no allergic reaction. Some of the stage 2's that are combined have something that you have already given. My ped actually recommends that you start feeding w/stage 2. The only diff between the stage 2 and the stage 1 is the size of the food container. She told me to start off by giving her half the container... KWIM? Now, I just mix and match whatever I feel like b/c I have given her everything that they have. The only time that I don't is when I give her a new veggie that I am making myself.... Then I make enough so that she can have it for days so that I make sure there is no reaction.

3)As for the Stage 2 foods with DHA, same as above, can I just give this to my babies after I complete Stage 1?

Absolutely! DHA is just a supplement.
