Baby's eye color...when does it change?
Most of the family on both sides has brown eyes except for my MIL (Blue), my grandfather (hazel) and me (hazel). It's the great debate whenever anyone sees my DS's eyes. Right now they are a light blue, but were darker blue at birth. Just curious as to when the "true" eye color comes out, I heard it could be as late as 2 years!

I've heard a million different answers to this question. The most common seems to be 1 to 2 years! Who knows  ?

If they are going to be brown they will usually change by 6 months. Blue eyes at birth can change to green or hazel but can take up to 2 years.

every baby is different BUT for the most part, if they havent changed by 8-12 months, they most likely wont 
Jacks went from dark dark blue to brown at 4-6 weeks  he had no shot at anything other than brown (even though he has VERY blond hair!)

My ped told me that if the eyes are still blue at a year they will likely stay blue but there is a small chance they can go to hazel after a year.

DS at almost 5 months has blue eyes...DH has brown and I have hazel...No clue where the blue came from..I am just waiting for them to change to hazel

By the time they are 2...
My son's were bright blue and they changed from blue to green at 18 months and just stuck..
DD#1 stayed at a gorgeous brown
DD#2 stayed at blue.

DD#1 was blue blue until about 14 months, then they turned hazel

DS was born with blue. They're changing now at 18 months...hazelish now, we'll see if it stops there or if they go full on brown.

DS has hazel eyes the left lighter than the right and they have been pretty much the same color since birth they were a tad darker as an infant but at 18 months they are still hazel.
