Back from New Orleans! (MIni review)

I am so excited...we are going to dinner at Nola's (emerils restaurant), a champagne jazz brunch, hurricanes at Pat O'Briens, Beignets at Cafe du Monde, the Music Festival to see Duran Duran Chat Icon and its just me and my best friend!!!

I hope this day goes fast!!!

UPDATE: The trip was so nice...the weather couldn't have been better...it was 75 degrees and sunny.
Of course, we had a huge problem leaving Friday night. We were supposed to have a change over in Chicago but we left NY so late (because of some weather that I never saw) and missed our connection. We ended up having to stay a night in Chicago by the airport (with no luggage) b/c they told us it would be better if we didn't take it and recheck it. Then the next morning we had to fly to Dallas before flying to New Orleans. We finally made it there by noon on Saturday. What a hassle...

But then we headed straight to Bourbon Street for hurricanes and then dinner at Emeril's NOLA restaurant where we had great food and wine!

Sunday we took a tour of the garden district (really nice) and then headed to the Voodoo Music Festival to see Duran Duran in concert and had a great time! Oh...we also had a very overpriced jazz brunch at the Intercontinental Hotel where we stayed...it was good but def. not worth $42.00 even with the jazz music and unlimited champagne. I didn't drink that much b/c I knew we were going to the concert and didn't want to have to use the porto pottys (yuck!). Anyway, the concert was incredible. Monday morning we had a great breakfast at Petunias and then came home incident free.

New Orleans (the French Quarter and garden district) looks perfectly fine, as if nothing ever happened...however it was empty. Sunday night, hardly anyone was on Bourbon street and it was def. alot emptier than I'd ever seen it in two previous time (pre Katrina)...but it is still a great city, with great food, and great atmosphere and I can't wait to go back!!!
