Re: back pain from carrying DC
have you thought about going to a chiro? physical therapy? you're going to have to take it easy or change the way you are picking up/carryng your DD. are you bending and using your legs or are you bending and using your back?

Re: back pain from carrying DC
if the pain continues i will def go see someone. i will pay closer attn to how i lift her out of exersaucer. its weird that it hurts more overnight - enough to wake me up this a.m. while i was trying to roll over.
2 days ago i was holding her on my left side ,we were in the corridor changing rooms shen she suddenly pushed herself back away from me so fast - she would have hit her head on the wall and oh did my back feel that.
sorry to vent

Re: back pain from carrying DC
DS is big for his age, 18lbs at 4 months! And since his birth I have already pulled my back out 2x. I now go to the chiropractor and it has helped. I also try to be very aware of how I do things such as picking up ds, getting out of bed etc to limit the strain on my back. I am still not 100% but its much more manageable and less painful now!
ETA: How do you sleep at night?

Re: back pain from carrying DC
Omg, I literally feel your pain. My DD is over 22lbs at 10months and my back is in so much pain it even hurts when I am lying down or even carrying the lightest of weight.... I try going to the chiro, but it's hard to get in before he closes.

Re: back pain from carrying DC
Okay so my chiro said, when getting out of bed, turn on your side, slide your legs off the side of the bed and push yourself up with your arms. This way there is not twisting involved. With sleeping, sorry but sleeping on your belly is the worst for your back. If you sleep on your back put a pillow under your legs and if you sleep on your side a pillow between your knees.

It could be multiple reasons. Now that DD is getting heavier it's catching up with you.
Do you carry her on your hip? If so, stop. You will have a lot of low back problems. You would be overcontracting that side of you lower back to keep your hip from "collapsing" under her weight.
Do you lean forward to reach her "low" out of an exersaucer, PNP, etc.? You will also have back problem. The muscles of your back are constantly being over worked with the weight of DD.
Do you have a "low" changing table area? Again you would be leaning forward.
You sleep on your stomach slightly turned to the side. That's not the best position to sleep. You are all twisted. Again that's stressing your mid/lower back.
It you could a spine "issue". Some people have disc problem. In most cases it's muscular.
Try to watch your posture.
Take a warm bath with Epson salt (muscle relaxant).
Of course, I would recommend you get a massage.

Re: back pain from carrying DC
Oh, I feel your pain. I had neck problems before. That's no worse but no better. My back is okay so far. My biceps hurt are my real problem. I lift the carrier in such a way that I am really working the biceps. I'm sure that's okay but not when I am already overly sore.
