Back to School Night - WWYD?
Ok - so we have back to school night this week. Unfortunately, both of my kids grades are scheduled at the same time. DH most likely can't make it.
My kindergartener has some anxiety and is slowly adjusting to school. I've gotten good reports from his TA at drop off (as has DH), and he's been talking a lot about school. He doesn't have the same teacher as DS 1 did. From what I've heard she's less structured and a bit kooky. I kind of want to spend some time listening to her to form my own opinion.
My second grader is a good student and a rule follower. His teacher has just moved to second grade so I know nothing about her as a second grade teacher, just that she was super-structured in kindergarten. I've never listened to the second grade back to school night spiel either. DS 2 doesn't say much about his day.
What would you pick? I'm planning on stopping in to the classroom I don't go to for a few minutes, at least to write a note to DS that I saw his classroom and sat in his seat...
I'm kind of leaning towards K because of the issues DS 2 has but... I kind of want to hear the 2nd grade spiel for the first time.
Based on the time breakout - this is our only year with a conflict thankfully.

Go to one and schedule a short meeting with the other at another time.

I'd go to K and then pop over to the second grade room if it is in the same building.

Thanks for validating my thoughts - sometimes I think I overthink things too much!
Both classes are in the same hallway, 4 doors away from each other.

I would send the teacher a note or email. Many times they are there earlier. Perhaps she could give you a few minutes to introduce herself.

Thanks everyone.
I went to DS 1's class early, got some nice one on one time with the teacher, and then went to DS 2's class and met his teacher which was great.
