Backyard Play/Swing Sets Reccos

So, if all goes well with our sale/purchase of our home-- we will be moving sometime in July/August.

I want to get something for the backyard for Sasha. She'll be around 18 months at the time of our move. What's a good thing to get for her age, that will of course last a while-- or is she too young to bother for now?

We have a huge wood one from BJ's. We still have not put it up yet, in case we move..but Chels is 17 mos and we have a little tyke slide, swing and step 2 roller coaster for now...I don't know how much Chels would love the huge swing set just now anyway

Re: Backyard Play/Swing Sets Reccos

I remember last summer when we would go to playgrounds or friends houses with the swing sets, I literally spent the entire time with standing inches from the swing set (the clubhouse part on top) waiting to catch my son. He had been walking for months at that point so stability wasnt my issue, it was just hat he was so young to be up that high. He needed help on the ladder, help on the slide etc .

Anyway I had wanted a swing set last year but DH talked me out of it and I am glad. We had a ton of ground toys for him and he was happy as a clam.

This year at 2.5 we were going to get a wood set but someone gave us a little tikes swing set which is a great size for toddlers. Its not as exciting but it works great for now.

Personally I would wait a year.

If you do want to get one, both my BILs got their sets from Costco.

This is the one we have...

step 2

The age on it says 3-8 years. We put it up last summer, ds turned 3 last Sept. You can put a toddler swing on it and it's great to grow with.

Up until then we'd been using the step 2 roller coaster:

and the toddler climber:

they now have a really cool one:

Re: Backyard Play/Swing Sets Reccos

Congrats & best of luck on the house..

we were debating what to do as well... Chloe has no fear, so the big swing sets make me nervous. Plus, I think it's too early for them.. probably next year.

They do have some toddler playsets, but I feel like they will grow out of them and I would rather wait and spend $$$ on a nice big one.

I do really like the step2 climbers. We have a little tykes slide, swing, water table and cozy coupe. She looooves the slide. When we are outside she just loves to run around and explore.. she couldn't care less about the toys!Chat Icon

I got the first one Little-J-Mommy posted for DS's first birthday. He LOVES the swing and has just started going down the slide.

FYI - I got it used on Craig's List for $25!!!!!! And it was in PERFECT condition!

My twins are 18 months old, I don't really trust them on a full size swing set. Right now we have the sandbox, water table and the Naturally playful woodland climber which they absolutely love.
