Bad cold
I have been living with this awful cold for about a week and a half now. It started out as a hacking, dry cough, and has recently turned into a full-blown cold (TMI: mucus overload, major exhaustion, still coughing, headache ...).
Is it true that it takes longer to get rid of such illness when pg? Is there anything I should be doing for this that I'm not already doing(lots of liquids and rest)? I took the day off from work today (which I HATE doing) but I just felt that I needed an extra day to rest. Did anyone else go through this while in the early stages of being pg?

Re: Bad cold
I have a cold as well. I am taking Tylenol & the Dr has told me to monitor my temps to make sure that I do not get a fever.
Feel better & get some rest!

Re: Bad cold
I had this all last week - I got a fever though on Friday and left work not long after I came in to go home to the dr and sleep. I feel much better after sleeping most of the weekend - just really tired and a cough that comes and goes - worse after I had to walk to work - and a little bit of congestion which got better after arriving at work.
I was miserable last week - get lots of sleep and drink plenty of fluids and try to flush it out.

Re: Bad cold
Thanks! All I'm doing today is resting or sleeping, so I hope this works. I want to feel better again!
Question: What does the Tylenol do if you don't have a fever?

Re: Bad cold
I have had a bad cold and cough since last week. I thought it was getting better but it's really not. I haven't taken anything but cough drops and drinking alot of tea. Between that and the nauseau I am so thankful that I can work from home because I have basically been in bed the entire time.

Re: Bad cold
I had a bad cold about 20 weeks during my first pregnancy and it did last twice as long. I think b/c you are so limited in what you can take and you are winded anyway.
I drank a lot of OJ and monitored my temperature often (if you have a fever call your OB)
