Bad Morning sickness
Lately I am having bad morning sickness..the sight of food makes me want to throw up. Is there anything I can do to try to help this? At lunchtime I'm going to the store to buy crackers and ginerale. Hoping this will help!

Re: Bad Morning sickness
Zofran from my dr helped. Snack on crackers before even getting out of bed. Anything sour also helped a bit. I lived on Lemonade. Yet normally never even drank it.

Re: Bad Morning sickness
You have to see what works for you. I tried gingerale and saltines and that did nothing for me. Carbs in general tended to help, but when it was really bad, I just couldn't eat anything. If you're throwing up constantly, you can ask your dr about Zofran, but if you're just nauseous, then it's normal and I'd just try to tough it out.

Re: Bad Morning sickness
If nothing helps and you are vomitting a lot..then ask for Zofran. I am still on it at 20 weeks! If I dont take it I am in trouble!

Re: Bad Morning sickness
I agree with things that are sour, salty, or carbs. I tried ginger ale, ginger gum, ginger snaps, ginger tea...nothing helped. Jolly Ranchers or preggy pops helped but only while sucking on them. I do find crackers, decaf tea with lemon juice, bagels, cereal, eaten in small amounts about every 1-2 hours helped. Also chicken noodle soup I ate for dinner everynight for about 2 weeks straight. I feel like I have to graze all day to keep the nausea from getting out of control. I also take Zofran which took me from vomiting a few times a day to a light nauseous to queasy feeling. At 12 weeks I'm still dealing with it daily, but it is improving slightly, and I'm hoping it will be gone in the next two weeks like it was with DS.

Re: Bad Morning sickness
Thanks..I find that If I keep things in my stomach the nausea is not that bad at all. I felt better after I ate my giant orange this afternoon. Also I went and got saltines..and gingerale. I'm not throwing up much it's just the constant nausea feeling and right now I can't even eat chocolate!! Makes me sick to my stomach..I'm trying to toughen it out and hopefully it will go away after 12 weeks.

Re: Bad Morning sickness
Citrus-y stuff helps me. Water with lemon (sips) ... sour candy (preggie pops) and little tiny sips of coca cola or ginger ale.
was also taking B6 when it was worse -- didn't end up getting a scrip for Zofran as it never got that bad.

Re: Bad Morning sickness
I am 33 weeks and still on Zofran. I tried doing away with it recently and no luck. Thank God for it because that has really been my lifesaver. Especially at the beginning, NOTHING worked for me. Pretty much anything and everything food or liquid was thrown up.
