I brought DD to one at 8 weeks and also to the ped. ENT. They will probably give her Zantac, that's what they started us on. It didn't agree with DD though so we just give her Mylanta 1 cc up to 3x a day. We usually just do twice though, once in the morning before she eats and once in the evening. Good luck!

Yes, we had to take DDs to Schneider's to get them checked out. They were in so much pain and choking on their formula while spitting it up. Chat Icon They were put on Zantac and were fine within days! Good luck! Chat Icon

Yes, we see Dr. Kessler at Good Sam pediatric center. Very nice man. DS is on Zantac 1.2 ml 3X a day. Within days of starting it, his swallowing issues were gone. Still spits up a teeny bit every now and then, but nothing like it was in the beginning. She'll feel so much better after you go! Good luck!

I did with my first...the office closed and I wish I could take my second. She spits up soooo much. I mean her bib are soaked! We started putting cereal in her bottle and it has really helped. She still spits up but not as much.

i HATE reflux! DD's reg Ped but her on zantac and referred us to a gastro specialist she was 2.5 months and the gastro doc prescribed Prevacid 7.5mg, then saw her again last week - at 4 months and he said we can give her 15mgs of Prevacid AND zantac 1.5ml in the afternoon and at night. She STILL spits up but its gotten better than it was. We also add rice to her bottles. She wears a bib constantly Chat Icon

Re: Bad Reflux..

We didn't go to a GI specialist, our ped just started Gavin on Axid yesterday....

Gavin actually had a barium swallow (horrific experience) when he was 6 DAYS old and it showed only minor reflux....but it has gotten worse.....4 formula changes and nothing really helped....

Sorry about your little girl......

Re: Bad Reflux..

hi theresa

hannah has severe reflux still and she is 20 months and still on zantac.

hannah would arch and scream duirng feedings and when laying flat. she was silent refluxer. we did an upper gi barium swallow which was a waste of time b/c you have to be refuxing at that very moment of the test in order to see it. we tried axid which did not work and then zantac. hannah was put on elecare an elemental forumla which digests quicker so there is less chance for spit up. she also was bleeding from her rectrum alot and had a sigmoidoscopy which was inconclusive.

the gi at schneider was good but had no warmth or personality.

alot of ladies here have recommended dr. moy who is also in schneiders .

once we had the right note about hannahs condition we did not have an issue getting it covered thru the insurance.

hope all of this helps. i have alot of info on reflux if you need.

We saw Dr Moy at Schneider's. We didn't go at first for spitting up, it was for his liver enzymes being high, but she noticed his milk allergies.
