Bags under the eyes, puffiness under the eyes, out of nowhere?
I have never had an issue with bags or puffiness under my eyes. But all of a sudden, the last few weeks, I look like I got punched in the eyes.
I am getting worried! It is old age that has finally set in or allergies (which I never thought I had).
Now mind you, I do have an nasty awful sinus cold now...but never in my years have I had under the eye bags as a result of anything. Plus the bags started before the cold symptoms started...although I did feel some sinus pressure at the time. I guess I just find it odd since I have never had sinus issues before, or issues with swelling, puffiness, bags under eyes, etc.
What am I asking? I guess anyone have any input or experience with bags under the eyes out of nowhere?

This happens to me when I have bad allergies or a sinus infection...it has occurred since I was a kid so I do not think it has anything to do with your age.

Is a sinus infection typicallly treated with antibiotics? Any discharge I have is clear...not infected looking.
What else can I do? I have never looked like this in my life (bags and puffiness). I feel like I have aged 10 years in a day. Not to mention I feel awful with such pressure in my head and my nose is so stuffed, even despite taking sudafed.

Most of the time a sinus infection is treated with antibiotics. I usually see my ENT for a sinus infection and he gives me antibiotics and nasal spray. If sudafed is not working try benadryl...I would take it before you go to bed. In my experience the eye puffiness usually goes away after the infection is treated. Allergy eye drops may help-The OTC drops work pretty well. For the pain and pressure I usually put a warm compress on my forehead and face.

Re: Bags under the eyes, puffiness under the eyes, out of nowhere?
1. Slice a raw potato (after refrigerating for a couple of minutes) into two and circle the closed eyes gently with those halves. Place it on your eyes so that it also covers the puffed ares under your eyes and leave it like that for 15-20 minutes. You'll notice a tremendous change in those bags as they'll be diminished in size.
2. Cucumbers are a fantastic natural remedy to get rid of under eye puffiness. Take 2 slices of fresh refrigerated cucumber and place it on your eyes for 25 minutes. Relax with the cool soothing slices over your eyes and slip into a short nap, it will help refresh your mind as well as your eyes, and the anti-inflammatory properties of the cool cucumber will naturally help reduce puffy tissues.
3. The puffiness of the eyes can be reduced with the help of a glass of ice water and four stainless steel spoons. Chill the spoons in the water and then place one over each eye. Keep switching the spoons while letting the other one chill in the glass of water. Keep switching until you see improvement.
4. Apply any good eye cream for dark circles containing vitamin K and argiline. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. Regardless of the cause, however, skin creams containing these two ingredients reduce puffiness and discoloration significantly in many people. Long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.but be careful while choosing any cream as there are lots of creams available in the market but only some of them are really work, do some research and read eye cream reviews to choose best one for you.
