Baking-butter ?

I'm going to be baking brownies tomorrow morning.

Took the stick of butter out of the freezer and put in the fridge tonight. Butter needs to be room temp (explicit in the recipe).

Can I leave the frozen butter on the counter overnight so it's room temp in the AM (like 10ish) or will it go bad?

ITA!

Whenever I know I'll be baking a lot I leave all of my butter out overnight so it's perfect in the morning!

Really? never put butter in the fridge? I have never heard of that!

I actually meant to leave it out all night and ended up going to bed without taking it out!!

Delayed things a bit this AM, but worked out fine. Going to post the recipe!

Re: Baking-butter ?

we don't refrigerate the stick of butter that's "in use"

we've never had a problem with it, and it's always perfect for putting on bread, even if i'm not in the mood to toast it

We don't. We even keep a pound in the cabinet to always have at room temp. Ina Garten keeps butter out as well Chat Icon

I leave my butter out in it's dish all the time. Unspreadable butter is a peeve of mine. It'll be fine.
