Bale Busted for Alleged Mum-Battering

The Dark Knight just got a whole lot darker.

British police sources TMZ that Christian Bale has been arrested and is still being grilled on allegations of assaulting his mom and sister Sunday, the night before the London premiere of "The Dark Knight."

The official word from Scotland Yard is that "a 34-year-old male" was taken into custody "in the late morning today" in a police precinct in Central London. (Bale is 34.) They tell TMZ that the allegation emanated "another force," but that the incident in question took place in London.

i seriously am hoping this is NOT true and its a misunderstanding. in my mind i'm thinking his mom & sister hate him and reported this falsely to screw him over.

cause my future baby daddy can't be arrested for assault!!!

Cops Knew Batman Would Return

Just like the bat signal, coppers knew all along they could get Batman when they wanted him -- so they didn't arrest him until after his big premiere ... and the four press conferences he did before it.

So why did cops put a hold on busting Batman? They didn't think he'd flee.

Scotland Yard tells us after his mom and sis dropped a dime on Bale yesterday, the cops didn't jump because they felt Christian was not a flight risk. Also, they thought the crime was not super serious.

So, we're told, they waited until after "The Dark Knight" premiere to have him pay a visit to the station.






Batman Free: Back to Alleged Crime Scene

Christian Bale has just been released from a London pokey.

Bale was driven back to the Dorchester Hotel where he allegedly did something to his mom and sis, getting them mad enough to file a crime report.

Scotland Yard tells TMZ Bale has been ordered to make an appearance back at the cop shop in September.



Christian Bale Denies Assault Allegations

Christian Bale's attorneys released a statement Tuesday denying assault allegations that led to the actor's arrest in London:

"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," the star's lawyers said in the statement. "Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
