What do you do at these? I have to go today and not sure what to expect. Can I bring the baby? Of course DH might not be able to come unless he can get out of work Chat Icon

Re: Baptism class

We didn't bring our son but some people did bring their babies. Just went over the meaning of it all, then did a run through in the church.

I brought Andrew and really have no idea what they were even saying. I am a bad Mom and was paying no attention.

Re: Baptism class

It depends. Our letter asked us not to bring the baby but one couple did anyway. It was just to explain what was going to happen that day and how to answer who should sit where etc.

Re: Baptism class

we didnt bring DD and neither did any of the other parents, Id try to get a sitter if you can - the class is only about an hour long. You wont do much other than sit there and listen to them talk a bit. we also watched a 5 or 10 min video on what the ceremony will be like...

Re: Baptism class

DH and I had to meet with our Decon after Mass one day. He talked to us for about 15 mintues about what Baptism was and what our Priest would do the day of the Baptism. That was it.

Re: Baptism class

We didn't bring dd, but one couple brought their baby. It was a small discussion and a few hand-outs with details of the day.

Re: Baptism class

we didnt bring DD with us and our letter had asked that we didnt, but 1 couple did and I hate to say but the child was not behaved and it was difficult to pay attention and you could see everyone getting angry.
we watched a video, discussed the baptism itself, had prayers, then had to sit in a circle and introduce yourselves and give a brief description about what you do, how many children about the child who is getting baptizedChat Icon . It was 1 1/2 hours long and at 8 pm.!
