Barbie Party Cruise ad - Am I the only one who does not get it?
They have this ad for Barbie, the party cruise.
The advertise with Barbie and friends in short dresses dancing in the "club".
What age group is Barbie for?
I mean when I was 6 or 7, I never thought of dancing in a "club" until much later.
Are 5-8 year old girls dreaming of going to clubs nowadays at such young age?
When I wanted to go to clubs.... there was no barbies in my toy box.

I dont get it either. I had the same thought yesterday when I was in Target and noticed the Barbie Hottub car. Really? Little girls need to playing with cars with hottubs in them. I think its ridiculous. But I also think Bratz dolls are the are a little absurd.

There are alot of strange things that the barbie company has done that make me  when i see them. but they seem to sell the stuff so who knows. Its up to the parents what morals they want to start setting in their children at that age.

There was definitely a doll like that. I just can't remember whether it was Barbie!
So, Sophie, when you were at the age where you were thinking about going to clubs, what WAS in your toybox? 
When I played with barbies, I was not thinking of her going out to the club with her friends but I had her making out with Ken so much that my Ken doll's neck got a crack in it and his head never stayed on too well.

I remember pregnant Barbie.
And Kerie.... I never had Barbie in my toy box. When I was growing up (a long long long time ago) Barbie had visible knee joints. That did not meet my standards. They used to make a similar doll with "smooth" legs. So much more beautiful.
