Hey, that's great that your report is done already. I work for a car insurance company and we don't have anyone there after 7pm. Chat Icon Anyway I always say it's everyone else you have to watch out for...especially the high risk people we insure.

Well, it's more damage than I thought. I figured only one piece was damaged but it's a combination of 3 pieces.Chat Icon That means longer to fix Chat Icon

This is what it looks like in the daylight. The accident was last night. If we had been in a car I know it would have been far worse.

Not sure why we saved it but this is the piece that came off.

There were no SUV's at the rental place so I have a 4 x 4 car of sorts - a Compass by Jeep.

And guess what came in the mail today - the Title to the SUVChat Icon

My best friend is a claims adjuster - has been for about 8 years. They take claims 24 hours.

Yeah, I have the rental for 30 days. I am hoping it does not take that long.

Re: barely a month old and ruined!

The first scratch always hurts the most. I know you're upset, but it's just a car- it can always be fixed. More of an inconvenience than anything. The important thing is that nobody got hurt.

I hope insurance gets it fixed quickly and you can forget about it all soon.

Oh dear I know how you feel. About a day or two after we got our car, we got a ding in the side of the door. It is certainly not what your car endured, but it stinks. It isnt worth claiming for us, but I hope you get the satisfaction that you seek from your insurance company.

Re: barely a month old and ruined!

Thanks ladies. I'm slowly getting over it. I'm just glad nobody was injured. And I hope I get my truck back soon.Chat Icon

My claims adjuster friend says it may take a while since the 2007 after market parts may not be available yet. If the body shop orders from the factory they may not send it since the part is needed for a new truck. He may be told it's on "backorder"Chat Icon We'll see.
