Basement Heating

I have been living in our new house for 2 weeks and I was just moving boxes around in our finished basement when I noticed... there are no baseboards. We have oil heat and the rest of the house has baseboards.
I feel silly asking this but does anyone else's basement (finished or unfinished) not have heat? If not, in the winter, how cold does the basement get?
Thanks

Re: Basement Heating

we just finished our basement and were waiting until this spring to do the heating...when we found out that we would have to take down the molding we said that maybe we wouldn't put it in...it really does not get cold in our basement over the winter so we may forget it...

Re: Basement Heating

the finished part of our basement gets cold- in the mid-60s- in the winter. no regular heat, but we do have an in-wall electric heater that helps.

Re: Basement Heating

when we moved in our basement was finsihed but no heat. My brother has his own company so he installed it for us so now its 'usuable' space in the winter. it did cold down there in the winter, i would say 50s-60s

Re: Basement Heating

You can always add baseboard heating down there. My friend who finished his basement himself just did this.
