Basement Renovation some pics of progress
We have been working on reno’ing out basement for that past yr now. DH has been doing most of the work himself on weekends, vacations and after work, and with the help of some family members for certain jobs. DH plans to open his private practice down there so most of the space is his office, but we will now have a laundry room and a den.
We are still not done yet and have things to do, DH is currently putting tile down, hopefully painting and carpeting will be soon and lots of odds and ends.. but then we still have the entire bathroom to do.
This is what the basement looked like when we moved in. LOTS OF PANELING!!
Gutting
Gutted
Laundry room moved to where oil tank once was (we converted to gas and DH and family and friends carried out the oil tank on their own)
Framed walls
and new windows
doors installed
Electric redone. My uncle came in and upgraded out service to 200amp and then DH and my dad rewired the entire basement
Put in basement entrance. Hired someone to dig out hole and pour the wall but DH and FIL cut foundation of the house, dug out and installed drain and installed the door. DH also built the stairs
This is where the entrance is now
Sheet rocked walls and spackled
Drop ceiling
Moldings
Baseboard heating

Looks great so far! We are redoing our den and basement too...same deal with the paneling, ugh! Can't wait to see pics when it's all done!

looks great! we are also redoing our basement! DH just finished gutting it, and removing the carpet and tile. Now we are almost ready to really get things started!

thanks everyone1 I cannot wait for it to be done, the dust is killing me but luckily it is mostly contained down there.
I cant believe i will ave a basement soon!!!
