Basic Medicine Cabinet Stock for Baby? Plus allergy question...
Can you please let me know what medicines are good to have in our medicine cabinet starting the day baby comes home? I want to have SOME supply, but not so much that things will expire before they're used.
Also, should I be concerned that my DH is allergic to acetaminophin, which is in Tylenol? Should I stay away from anything with that - like Baby Tylenol - or is it possible the baby won't have the same allergy?

acetaminophen = Tylenol
I would talk to your ped right away about your DH's allergy and ask the ped, if Motrin = Ibuprophen is okay to give instead. The dosage is by weight, not age.
I wouldn't not risk putting an infant at risk for allergic reaction. IMO, if your DH has it, it makes it more risky for your baby to have it.
There is a pretty decent list here:
http://www.babycenter.com/medicine-chest-checklist
but in the first months I was regularly using
gripe water mylicon saline nose drops MDMoms BabySilk sunscreen (imo this one safe for newborns) A&D with zinc Aquafor Nose Frida (for boogers)

motrin or ibuprofen is not recommended in infants less than 6 months of age because their kidneys are not mature enough.
