bathroom question
hi ladies!!
DH and I were thinking about remodeling our bathroom.. right now it has wallpaper.. i would love to have tiles on the walls, but for now we are doing a cheaper renovation... is it ok to just take the wallpaper off, and just paint the bathroom??? is there special paint to use?
TIA !!

Re: bathroom question
I removed wallpaper from my bathroom walls and we sanded and patched the walls and used regular paint. It came out fine.

Re: bathroom question
Benjamin Moore puts out paint for bathrooms and kitchens. It is mold resistant and semi-gloss. This is what we used in our bathroom. Bathrooms can really collect a lot of moisture, so its good to use paint that is made for a bathroom. Just from my experience. GL on your remodel. I'm sure you are going to love taking that wall paper down.

Re: bathroom question
Depending on how the wallpaper comes off, you may have to skimcoat the bathroom.
Skimcoat and then Prime and paint. That is what we did to our kitchen and the bath that I didn't demo.

Re: bathroom question
I agree with everything's that been said -- however, if the wallpaper comes off and the walls are nasty, you might want to consider some sort of decorative finish in the bathroom to hide the imperfections... my mom's a decorative painter and I'm grateful we didn't have to re-sheetrock because of her :)... i hope your walls are in good condition though! :)

We had horrible wallpaper in both of our bathrooms and we just took it down and painted.
