bathroom question
i'm going to try and explain this the best way i can b/c me and DH are really stumped by this whole situation....
so - we dont have any type of ventilation in our bathroom... we do have a window in the shower, but since it has been REALLY cold the last few days, i havent opened it up during our showers.
so last night me & DH took a shower back to back and when he got out, he noticed that it looked like the paint on the celing in the shower was starting to peel... it was bubbling up and looked to be dripping - we thought it was water at first, like a leak, but the ceiling was still in tact. we had a leak in the office a few months ago and we could SEE the huge water bubble overtaking the celing and our hand poked right through when we touched it... so that lead us to believe it was the paint dripping off...b/c we saw bubble & the paint pealing
does anyone know what this could be?? DH seemed to think that b/c we took 2 steamy hot showers back to back and it was SOOOOO cold outside, that maybe the paint started to peal?
any advice would be great!!! TIA

Re: bathroom question
Definitely sounds like the excess heat and humidity is peeling the paint. (One method of intentionally removing paint IS to use steam...)
You really need to get a ventilation fan installed in the bathroom. It's not that expensive, and will be much cheaper than dealing with moisture and humidity damage.

Re: bathroom question
you may want to keep the door open when you shower, until you can get a fan installed.
We had the paint peeling issue in our shower also. It turned out the wrong kind of paint was used to paint the ceiling...there is paint made for bathrooms and kitchens. When we redid our bathroom, we used the correct paint and havent had a problem.

Re: bathroom question
also, it could be that the incorrect type of sheetrock was used for the walls. there is a specific type for areas where there is steam/water. Look into that!!
