Bathroom renovation: Where to start?
Hi -Please help!
I have never really done any kind of renovation involving professionals, but I need to re-do my bathroom.
I have an idea of what I want, but I don't have specific products picked out yet.
I have at 1 company to call for an estimate.
What do I need to do first? Do I call for an estimate? Do I have to pick everything out first (like exact suppliers & product numbers?)
To make things more complicated,. I live in a co-op so I think I need to get approval at some point too.

we are starting a bathroom renovation.
first we had our general contractor give us an estimate. he gave us a price for just the labor, gutting everything to putting everything back including tiles, plumbing, vanity, etc.
he then listed what materials we'd have to buy and the measurements.
we went to the tile store to get an idea of what we like. consulted with our general contractor to make sure the size tiles would work in the space
ordered a vanity.
that's where we are at this point.

Call a few different companies for estimates. They should give you a serial estimate and a budget for your fixtures, tiles, ect. Than you choose a company. After that you will go and shop for the items you want.

Thank you! That makes total sense. I already know that they don't make bathtubs like we have anymore, so I definitely need a contractor to tell me what to do.
