Bathroom Renovations Ideas-

DH and I want to renovate our bathroom but I am unsure where to start looking for inspiration.

Do you ladies have pics of your recent renovations or beautiful bathrooms? Where did you get the ideas?

I don't have pictures b/c we're literally in the middle of it (no toilet!!!! one bathroom!!! luckily my SIL lives upstairs), however, we had the same issue and needed to come up with a plan in a hurry.

Home Depot Expo actually has a nice big table near their books/magazines so you can sit and look through (near the cash registers at the Westbury location). That's helpful. We also liked looking at their displays and the ones at Lowes (their sales people are VERY helpful) and HD, pics in catalogs, a couple of small bathroom shops, and in the albums on here. It took a couple of weekends of looking around, and in the end we ended up designing around 2 pieces we really liked. I think it's going to come out awesome - if it ever gets done!

Word to the wise if you are doing it yourself - we are newbies at bathrooms/tiling and so we doubled or tripled the amount of time it would take to do things and we still vastly under-estimated. Wouldn't have been as much of a problem if it wasn't our only bathroom....

the floor tiles match, they are 12"x12".



I found the tiles at Old Country Tile in Pt. Jeff - i copied a display - they have a ton of ideas!

Contractors JUST got here.
In about 2 weeks or so I'll have a whole album of before and after.
The bathroom we are totally redoing is 41 years old

We bought all of our fixtures in Lowes.
Started buying our accessories in Linens N Things and Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday.

I am so excited and can't wait until it's all finished.

We just did our foyer bathroom, but we didn't do any new tile, just paint, moulding, light fixture, mirror...I still need accessories:

This is our bathroom. We only painted, everything else was already there. Walls are BM Weekend Getaway.

Accessories are different now.

I'll be able to post before and after soon - hopefully the end of next week. Right now it's just cement board and drywall.

I went to HGTV - the Rate My Space link near the upper right has photos posted by lots of people on just about every kind of renovation you can think of, from expensive high end complete gutting to simple refurbishments. You can view by room so it's easy to see the bathrooms only. Lots of good ideas there - it helped me narrow down the direction I wanted to go in.

I did both of my bathrooms in the last year and they are both very different. I have pictures in my album of both (one downstairs & one bathroom). I can't say I got my inspiration from anywhere. For the downstairs bathroom I saw the display in the tile store and said this is the tile I want. I didn't have much time to think about what went into the bathroom downstairs as we weren't really prepared when our contractor started taking down walls, but for upstairs we took about 2 months to plan it out and really it was nothing we saw, just colors we knew we wanted and we kinda just did it as we went.
