Bathroom Vanity Question

I have to replace mine. Basically DH hates everything offered at Home Depot, Lowes, & Consumers. Because insurance is paying for it, those are my only store options.

His primary objection are the drawers. Our current vanity is 48" with 3 doors and no drawers. He thinks the drawers are useless and a waste of space. I keep saying hair brushes can be kept there, and he says I don't have enough to fill 6 drawers (true). When I mentioned things like Bacitracin - he said there is no way he is putting a tube of ointment in a drawer and risking it getting squished and oozing out everywhere.

Please tell me - what do you keep in your bathroom vanity drawers?

Re: Bathroom Vanity Question

drawers are a MUST!

We redid our bathroom last year and got a 60 inch double sink vanity. It has 5 drawers (maybe 4?) and 2 big doors. We keep everything in the drawers--extra hand towels, new toothbrushes and tooth paste, brushes, contacts, bandaids, etc.

I never had drawers before this bathroom and don't know how we lived without them. And we have 2 big medicine cabinets too with all the medicines in them.

Re: Bathroom Vanity Question

Growing up, my apartment, my current 3 bathrooms, my moms current house, other family members houses, I don't recall ever seeing any drawers in any of those bathroom vanities.

I could see how it might be handy, but since I've never had any, I don't think they are necessary. DW has never mentioned that she wishes she had drawers, either.

I think the drawers are very important. I have two on my vanity and I put in 1, the hair brushes, scrunchies and claws. And the bottom one has my maxi pad collection. lol

He's not going to understand b/c it's a woman thing. My husband is not allowed to put stuff in "my" drawers in the bathroom.

DH and I have separate drawers. Mine has a lot of little things along with my brushes, and my makeup in a small plastic bin. DH has a large plastic bin in his where he keeps his contacts and other stuff.

Re: Bathroom Vanity Question

We have two drawers. Top one is DH's and he keeps his colognes and other creams/tubes in there. Bottom one is mine, I keep my blow dryer, flat iron and brushes in it.

Re: Bathroom Vanity Question

I hate our vanity because it doesn't have drawers! I want at least 2 - makeup, brushes, hair accessories, etc. I wouldn't be able to fill 6 though.

6 seems a little over the top if you're not looking for drawers. We have 4 in a double vanity. I use part of 1, my wife uses the others, technically some of that space is for "communial items" that she mostly uses........ but I digress..

drawers are a good thing, especially if you don't have 2 seperate medicine cabinets you put crap in.

I personally think that vanity tops should be basically empty except for soap a toothbrush holder and a cup holder. you take things out, use them and put them away

Everything else should be away. Drawers and medicne cabinets make that happen.

Re: Bathroom Vanity Question

We had only 2 doors in our apartment vanity and I feel like drawers are more of a space saver. In the drawers at my moms we have hair dryers, flat iron, brushes in one
Extra stuff like toothpaste, toothbrushes, cotton balls etc in the other

Maybe you can try Peter Andrews? Ikea?
Maybe go into a tile store and see if they'll sell you something you like?

I've seen random ones at home goods

Good luck
