Bayville Winter Wonderland
Not worth it! At all!
Here is a copf of an email I just sent them that explains everything. I know , its long but I had a lot to say:
Tonight I visited the Bayville Winter Wonderland and I wanted to take the time to provide some feedback. I had heard good things about the Bayville Scream Park but since I do not live in the area, I had never been there. When I heard about the winter wonderland my friends and I decided it would be worth the trip to take our children. My husband was not thrilled about the drive but I assured him we would have a great time! We went with 16 of my friends and their kids, there was a total of 19 people. I live in Patchogue so it took us a little over an hour to get there. We paid $15 for admission for the 5 main attractions. I was extremely disappointed with the "Magical Meeting with Santa" attraction. You could imagine the excitement of the two 3 year olds we were with who understand what Santa Claus is all about! They walked behind the curtain to meet Santa and there is is!!!!! However, this Santa doesn't greet them. At all. There's no "Merry Christmas" or "Ho, Ho, Ho" or "What do you want for Christmas" Nothing. There was no life to this Santa Claus at all. When it was my 16 month old daughters turn, she walked in , and he just blankly stared at her. It was appalling. He did not say one word to her. Why would I spend an additional $13 for a picture with him??? When it was time for the "Santa's Factory Funhouse" , it just seemed, well, unorganized. They ran out of 3D glasses so we had to wait while they got more and folded each pair to hand out to all 19 of us. (This is all happening while our children are anxiously whining to get into the attraction.) The holiday light show was a bit strange. It just didn't seem right walking through holiday lights amongst fighting pirates and dead skeletons. Couldn't the creepy stuff be covered up since kids would be walking through? During conversation at the end of the night, we learned that was friend was told she didn't have to pay for her 18 month old. Yet we had paid for our 16 month old and my other friend paid for her 17 month old. We all arrived at the same time and were on line together. We went back to the ticket booth and the employee told us that my friend should have paid for her 18 month old. I then spoke with a manager who said everyone had to pay. Even newborns??? He double checked and then came back and said children 1 and under don't have to pay. It just seemed very unorganized. I am part of a message board involved with hundreds of Long Island moms. They are expecting feedback about my experience tonight. What am I supposed to say? I have to give them honest feedback. I am sorry this letter is so long but I thought it was important to share my experience. If I can expect anything - please, please, please, get a Santa who can act the par or you will have tons of disappointed children!!!! Thank you.

So funny, I just wrote a RAVE about it. We JUST got back from it with DS and he had a blast! Santa and the charcaters were awesome for us. Santa spoke to DS, gave him candy canes, hi-fived him. The characters were picking him up and igh-fiving and dancing with him. That was not the experience we had at all.

really! We probably saw eachother! it was pretty empty when we were there from about 5:30 - 7.
I cant believe the Santa talked. The 5 kids I was with all went in and he was so dull and lame. He literally just stared at my daughter. Just curious, did you spend the $13 to have a pic taken with him? I wonder if they treat you diff then

Re: Bayville Winter Wonderland
We did, but we got all the images on disc instead of one print. That way for $13 bucks we could print out as many as we wanted of any of the ones they took.
We probably did see each other, so funny!!

and I swear , I am not a picky person or a complainer. But the Santa really annoyed me! I am not exagerating when I say he did not say one word to my DD!

Re: Bayville Winter Wonderland
We went during the day, thought it was cute..Amazing? No, but something fun to do w/ the family. Didn't see Santa b/c we already saw him at the mall. Went ice skating (the ice is impossible to skate on b/c it's fake ice, more like plastic, SUPER slippery stuff, but DD had a blast. She went on the little train ride, we ate at that Shipwreck place for lunch, spent some time @ the arcade, went to the funhouse...She loved all the characters walking around. Like I said, nothing incredible, but we got what we expected & our almost 4 year old had a great day!

Yeah ...I wasn't impressed either...in fact, I called my best friend and told her not to bother shelling out the money to bring the family...

Re: Bayville Winter Wonderland
Were the skeletons and pirates part of the light show or were they just not hidden?
I read that the light show was supposed to be a pirate's first christmas?
I must admit the story sounds a bit strange.

I know you are NOT a complainer. This sounds terrible, maybe b/c it's a week night they had crappy Santa out instead.
