BD question...
Dh and I tried something different this month as far as BDing goes.
We bd'd the day I got the on my opk. Then, we bd'd three days after.
Do you think that's enough?
We've never tried this variation before, so any input welcome!
Theres

Re: BD question...
I was going to post a related question-- how many DPO should you BD?
Like, if you O today-- when should you stop BDing?

I always thought there was a 12-24 hour window after you receive your +opk for bding. So, if you get your today, you could technically bd 1-2 days after.
This am I read in The Mother of All Pregnancy Books by Ann Douglas that technically you should BD five days leading UP to ovulation. On pgs 74-75 and 95 she mentions that chances are HIGHER of conceving by bding those five days. Douglas also said that two days before ovulation you have a 33% chance of conceiving, and one day before you ovulate you have only a 5% chance of conceiving.
I'm bummed about this because we bd'd only one day before ovulation and our chances then would be around 5% of conceiving.
I hate Ann Douglas!

Re: BD question...
Well just because one author says it, doesn't mean itss true... I just checked MMC.com and it said basically there are 5 days in your fertile window.
3 days leading up to O, O day and 1DPO.
We didn't do the first day in my window, but have done every day since and will BD today and tomorrow. Then, we wait.

otherwise, you are relying on very fast swimmers to "catch" the egg which is less likely to happen

Re: BD question...
I would BD a few more times (not everyday, like every other day or every 2 days) just to be safe. Just becuase you got a positive OPK that doesn't guarentee ovulation. I had cycles where I got a + OPK but never ovulated, then got another + a week later and DID ovulate.

I never thought to continue to use OPKs... how did you figure out you didn't ovulate?
I felt that I was going to ovulate early, and sure enough, I got a positive OPK to confirm what I thought my body was telling me.

Re: BD question...
I think it's more important to BD before O than after. The egg only lives about 24 hours & those little guys have a bit of a journey to get there. If you BD before O then the sperm are alreay there waiting for the egg.
ETA: We ususally BD every other day until O time & then we try to be 1 or 2 days in a row before the , the day of, and then 1 or two days after. So usually until 1DPO. I got pregnant once with that routine.

Re: BD question...
I was also going to just post the same thing. If got +OPK yesterday, I'm assuming I O'd today...how long after O should we keep going?
