BDTD Moms, anyon every measure small and a week behind later on

I knew I was going to measure small, which is wonderful consiering I've gained 24 lbs at 32 weeks...but I digress...
We make small babies...DD was 6 10 I was 6 10 and DH was 5'5 when he was born....also, I'm carrying very small...so the baby is only measuring 3lbs 8oz right now so they want me coming back in two weeks to make sure she's growing appropriately...She's also measuring a week behind which she hasn't up until this point, which got me a bit nervous...anyone experience this???

I had the same issue .. the sono tech said I was measuring behind by 1 week. I was told this both at my fetal echo (22 weeks) and my growth sono (28 weeks). When the High Risk doctor came in at my week sono, I asked about this, since I was really worried. She explained that the sono tech measure things differently than the doctors.

The baby was in the 30th percentile ... totally within normal range ... at this stage in pregnancy, when babies start to build up fat/grow bones, some babies are larger (75th percentile) and some are smaller (20th percentile) ... that's why all babies are not born at the same height/weight. At some point they have to start gaining weight/height differently in utero.

I hope that helps explain it a little bit better than the sono tech did .... Chat Icon

At 29 weeks DD was measuring a week behind. My doctor said that's fine. They like u to be within 2 weeks of the gestational age. I had another growth sono yesterday and at 33 weeks she is only 4 days behind so she is catching up. I wouldn't worry. Sounds like your LO is just petiteChat Icon
