Be careful eating fish
last night we went out for italian food. dh had a shrimp and calamari dish. he's had this plenty of times. about 12am, he got so sick. he kept going to the bathroom. in the 5 yrs we're together, i never say him so sick. since about 6am, its been quiet.
when u eat fish, make sure it tastes right. he said his dish tasted fine

if he doesn't look right when he get up to to the hospital...
they probably left t he fish out too long.. I also would call asap..
My dh got food poisoning from shrimp salad once and could never ever eat it again...
I got it once from a christening--me and 30****other people! my cousin left the hero out in the sun on the table...
you cns get deathly******ill-make sure he is ok!

when he wakes up, i'll see how he feels. at 6am, he even called his mother. she said to drink some coke. since then he's been sleeping. i'm hoping it will be fine. do u suggest him calling the restaurant to let them know. we go there only the time. this is the first time he got sick from the food

Remember, there is also a NASTY highly contagous stomach virus going around, and it hits you out of nowhere like a ton of bricks. You feel fine and then all of a sudden you are really sick. It is possible that this is the case, but you never know with seafood.

My mom got food poisoning after eating fish at a restaurant years ago. It was horrible...I have never seen anyone so sick vomiting.

This is what my DH kept saying when he had the stomach virius..."I've been poisoned....I have food poisoning...." We didnt eat anything that could cause food poisioning....he just had a stomach virius.
P.S. I hope DH feels better soon. Mine slept for nearly 22 hours the first day

Sorry your DH is sick. See how he is today and whether he can hold liquids down.
Give him the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, apples, toast.
Start with Bananas and see how that goes..a few hrs later, give him rice. In between ginger ale or gatorade and then later try the apples and toast.
It's important he stay hydrated. It blows to be sick.
I hope it's just a 24 hr bug. Food poisoning is horrendous. I've gotten it from chicken but never from fish.

I wpould call in case the cook is dumb enough to keep serving the fish.
It is possibly he did get the stomach bug---and drink flat warm coke--not cold coke with bubbles
they also sell the coke syrup at the drug store--I think its called emetrol for this

Since food poisining has a 24-28 hour incubation period before you see symptoms, its probably that 24 hour bug going around.
Give him the BRATT diet,
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Tea
Toast
and gatorade if he can take it.
Hope he feels better soon.

True. MIL had this the other day - exactly like this.
I'm amazed I did not get it too.

yikes! that is the worst!!!!  DH and I went to Popei's about a month ago and we barely made it home before we got sick (and it's 5 minutes away from where we live!).
we think that it was the stuffed mushroom appetizer though, since we both had different seafood dishes.
either way, it's going to be a while before we go back there!

DH has it too. Thursday, Friday was REALLY bad. It's now day 4 and he's finally starting to feel better.

not true, some people get food poisoning symptoms within hours of eating the food (as i have, several times)
i hope your DH feels better!!

I got food poisoning from shrimp parmesan. It hit me about 5 hours later and I could not leav ethe bathroom from midnight until 5AM. It did not taste funny at all and I have heard people say that they though their food was really good befor ethey got food poisoning.

I got sick from raw oysters once in Key West...it hit me four to five hours after eating them. I was sick for about three hours and then started feeling much better. By the next morning, I was fine and starving.

Glad to hear it. My mom had that stomach flu that is going around - it was terrible. I hope Gary is all better tomorrow

me and DH went out on new years even and had chinese food. we shared a dish that had scallops, lobster and shrimp. the both of us were sick for 2 days!

sounds like that bug going around.
I thought I got food poisoning on xmas eve either from eggnog or wendy's. I was not able to keep any fluid in me  I couldnt keep up with drinking water.
Its said to last 1-3 days and its so bad that Britian (as in the whole country) is asking people who are sick to not go to work.
Hubby said that he's never seem me this sick ever either. I don't get sick like 'this' if you know what I mean.
I personally have never seen so much fluid come out of me either
