Be honest... how much work goes into the 'circular file'
I probably put about 1 stack a week in the trash. I just can't keep up with it all!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "circular file", but...I'll admit to being guilty of throwing worksheets and such in the garbage ungraded.  There just aren't enough hours in the day!

I don't know either, but save it for emergency sub plans! That way, a sub will have stuff if you don't have the energy for plans.
ETA: I misunderstood your question. To answer it correctly, very little gets trashed. It goes into their portfolioes, ungraded or not.

I usually end up throwing out some quizzes and a few tests over the course of a year....I just cant get to grading them all in time for report cards OR if the class as a whole does badly I just toss it and chalk it up to "lesson learned to prepare them better next time"

I throw out about a stack a week. Its easy this year because my kids dont even ask for anything back, including test grades!

i check and/or grade every paper or assignment that they do. the way i figure it, if i'm too busy to check the assignment, i shouldn't assign it in the first place. i don't throw anything out.

I throw work out. Never a quiz or test but "busy" work I give sometimes will go straight into the garbage. I have way to many students to grade every piece of paper they hand in and they never ask for the work back anyway.

usually a stack a week. Its usually their morning work which I don't grade anyway, its just busy work.

same for me. Pretty much all their classwork that they hand in ends up in the trash. I only grade tests, and I just check to see if they did their hw and labs so I know how many they did/didn't do, but I never actually read them.

 oops..duh~ hmmm...not that much for me. I try to look at as much as I can. Maybe about a stack a class per marking period.
